What's the difference between hosted and self-host?
Hosted is a flat-fee subscription where we run flowsocial on our infrastructure. You sign up and ship. Self-host is a one-time license: you run it on your own Convex, Clerk, R2, and Outstand accounts. Same product, different operating model.
Which platforms are supported?
X, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Threads, Bluesky, YouTube, Pinterest, and Google Business. Ten platforms in v1, all unified through a single composer with per-platform character counts and rephrasing.
Can my clients review without a login?
Yes, and it's one of the things that makes flowsocial different. You send a magic link, and your client lands on a clean review surface where they can comment in-context and approve. No accounts, no extra seats, no Slack screenshots.
Is it really open source?
Yes. The codebase is publicly available under a permissive license. No 'open core with a paid wall in the middle', no 'AGPL with a CLA so we can change the rules later'. If you self-host, you own your install.
How does this compare to Buffer?
Buffer is great if you want a polished single-creator tool and don't mind paying per channel. flowsocial is built agency-first: workspace → brand → posts from day one, with magic-link client review, ten platforms, and a self-host option Buffer doesn't offer.
Can I migrate from Buffer or Hootsuite?
Importers for Buffer and Hootsuite scheduled queues are on the v1.1 roadmap. In the meantime, we'll help any team on the Pro tier migrate manually. Reach out and we'll get you set up.
Is there an API?
Yes. flowsocial exposes a public REST API for posts, scheduling, brands, and approvals. Webhooks fire on publish, approval, and comment events. API docs ship with v1.
What's your data privacy stance?
Your content is yours. We don't train models on your posts, we don't sell data, and on the self-host plan your data never leaves your infrastructure. Hosted plan stores data in your chosen region.
